OH yeah, and with our shocks, the best is not an extra charge. What was the phrase during the election? "Lipstick on a Pig" does describe any mounting method other than a spherical bearing if you are looking for shock performance. Plastic or delrin does eliminate the "rubber/trampoline" effect but it then introduces new friction that interferes with the operation of the shocks.įorces are forces and the friction involved in a delrin/plastic mounting system introduces "Hysteresis" losses that interfere with your shock operation. In addition, rubber causes side loads in the shock rod and will eventually damage the shaft. and the rubber also changes the spring rate momentarily until the rubber compresses. Rubber acts like a "Trampoline" effect that must be overcome before the shock can actually work. The answer is that the spherical bearings offer the best solution. "If rubber or plastic was the best way, then why don't you see rubber or plastic on the best race cars?" (Formula 1 with Rubber?) (Indycar with Rubber?)-NOT Precise and smooth operation that does not interfere with the shock function. We did this because of the precision that the bearing offers. We have a Spherical bearing set up on our shocks in all mounting locations other than the bottom of the rear shock "Fork" mount. One simple question has to be answered here. We did our best to avoid the compromises. There are other coil overs out there but they are full of compromises. This is what we came up with and we did it with no compromises. ![]() We have always had our Bilstein coil over shock package but many people wanted an Adjustable shock, so we went to work to make a first class package just the way i would want it for a race car without welding new mounts in place. You know LG Motorsports and our saying, "we race-You win" and that is why we built the product that we built here. Red anodized Aluminum with spherical bearing front shocks top and bottom. We made the valving right in the middle of our Bilstein shock setting, so you can dial up or down from there. Bearings top and bottom with forks on the lower rear.
